What Is This?

"Armengard" is not an international holiday association, nor is it a myself under an alias. Armengard is a non-player character in Wild Arms 3 (PlayStation 2, 2002). A young resident of Boot Hill, Armengard is passionate about days and dates. Every day she cheerfully informs you of the day's historical significance, and it's always complete bullshit. She's the best.

And when I say "every day", I do mean every day. Wild Arms 3 takes advantage of the PS2's internal clock to serve up a different story for each calendar day — 366 in all. Naturally, this means players will only see a handful of Armengard's holidays during their time with the game. Which is where the internet comes in. Dedicated fans have collected all of Armengard's quotes for perusal. I especially like the tumblr blog Daily Armengard, which posted each one of Armengard's quotes on the day. But Daily Armengard completed its schedule over a decade ago and now sits as an archive. I thought a continuous loop would be fun, so here we are!

Every quote here is, aside from minor typographical fixes and formatting, exactly as it is in the game. Wild Arms 3 is a funny game!

(By the way, if you're wondering what a "Filgaia" or "Elw" or any other unfamiliar noun is, it's an in-universe term or location. Just nod your head and check back tomorrow… the days are usually not self-referential.)
